STATEMENTKIT GUIDE

How to review a converted bank statement.

A small checklist that catches the mistakes a clean-looking spreadsheet can hide.

1. Check the whole statement

Compare source page count and transaction count. An incomplete table or an unparsed line blocks export in StatementConv. Do not assume a balanced total proves all lines were captured.

2. Check date, amount and direction

In the sample, 09/05/2026 needs confirmation as MM/DD/YYYY. Check the original month and day. Credits should be positive, and money leaving the account should be negative.

3. Keep real repeated transactions

Two identical amounts on the same date can be real purchases. StatementConv warns about matching rows but does not delete them automatically. Confirm both, or explicitly exclude the unwanted row.

4. Compare the closing balance

The synthetic sample starts at $3,200.00. Net transactions total $3,107.50, giving $6,307.50. Matched describes this arithmetic check only. Missing balances show Not checked.

5. Export the reviewed version

After correcting invalid fields and confirming warnings, export CSV or Excel. Save a separate review CSV or the Excel Review notes sheet if you need source pages and edit records.
